01 / Hanging wallpaper
Wallpaper
installation
Traditional wallpaper installation begins with the requirements of the actual covering. Some papers are pasted on the back; others use a paste-the-wall method. Pre-pasted coverings have their own activation instructions. The adhesive, primer and surface condition need to be compatible with the product rather than chosen by appearance alone.
The layout gives the pattern its position in the room. A prominent motif may need thought around a focal point, and a repeating design needs a starting line that allows the strips to meet as intended. Doors, windows and changes in wall height affect cutting and material use.
Our installers hang wallpaper under the Bellaggio brand, handling the selected covering with attention to alignment, seams and edges. A finished installation also depends on the underlying wall and the material’s characteristics. Natural variation or visible paneling may be part of a product, not something installation can erase.

02 / An existing covering
Wallpaper
removal
Removing old wallpaper is not the same job on every wall. A covering may separate in layers, leave a backing behind or reveal areas where the wall surface needs attention. The old adhesive and the substrate both influence how removal should be approached.
Once the covering is away, the wall can be assessed for the next finish. Removal does not by itself guarantee a ready-to-paper surface: residual adhesive, uneven patches or damaged areas may need additional preparation. We can discuss removal and preparation together when that fits your project.

03 / Under the paper
Wall
preparation
Wallpaper relies on a suitable underlying surface. Preparation may involve addressing loose material, adhesive residue, irregularities or repairs, then selecting appropriate priming for the covering and adhesive. The actual condition of the wall determines what is needed.
A covering is not a fix for active dampness or an unstable surface. Those issues need to be understood before installation is discussed. See the wall-condition questions for useful starting points.
04 / Self-adhesive materials
Peel-and-stick
installation
Peel-and-stick wallpaper can sound simple, but the selected product still has surface and paint requirements. Wall texture, coating finish and paint curing can influence adhesion. Follow the manufacturer’s specification and any test recommendation rather than assuming all painted walls are suitable.
Installation needs a controlled layout and handling so the design aligns without unwanted stretch or trapped air. Claims such as “removable” depend on the product and the wall beneath it; they are not a blanket promise of damage-free removal.
05 / Material character
Specialty
wallcoverings
Grasscloth, textile-look coverings, murals and other specialty products can call for different handling and planning. Natural-fiber materials may show panel-to-panel variation. A mural may be supplied in a defined panel sequence rather than a repeat that continues indefinitely.
Share the product information when you have it so we can discuss its requirements and project suitability. The material’s own specification and care instructions remain important. Read the material-selection guide before making assumptions about cleaning or seam visibility.
06 / Spaces used by others
Commercial
wallpaper
For a commercial space, the conversation may include access to the wall, occupancy, the scale of installation and the selected wallcovering’s specification. Product documentation should be checked for the requirements of the particular property and use.
We discuss commercial wallpaper installation directly with the person arranging the work. Do not assume a universal schedule, product rating or installation timeline: those details depend on the material and the project. Call to explain the space and ask about possible arrangements.
